Bananas Comedy Club was a legendary stand-up comedy venue in Poughkeepsie, New York, originally operating from 1986. It became famous for bringing nationally recognized comedians to the Hudson Valley, serving as an early platform for artists like Jimmy Fallon. The club was housed in a motel on Route 9, hosting a range of top comedic talent over the years. Both the Poughkeepsie and Hasbrouck Heights locations have since closed, though a new club under the Bananas name later opened in Rutherford, NJ. The original site is now the Holiday Inn, where another comedy venue, Laugh It Up, has since operated.
