In a raucous stand-up career spanning over 25 years and covering all seven continents, Tom Rhodes has made his mark as an International Man of Comedy. Born in Oviedo, Florida, Tom began his journey into comedy at the young age of 17, performing in local clubs in Orlando. It wasn't long before he was venturing across the Southern United States and up the eastern seaboard to New York City, honing his craft and sharpening his comedic voice. His breakthrough came when he moved to San Francisco, a city he fondly refers to as "The Jerusalem of Stand-Up Comedy." It was there that he caught the attention of Comedy Central, which resulted in the network’s first-ever development contract with a comedian. This collaboration led to his critically acclaimed hour special, "Viva Vietnam: A White Trash Adventure Tour." Further proving his versatility and appeal, Tom was spotted at the Montreal Comedy Festival by NBC executives, who offered him his own sitcom, “Mr. Rhodes.” In this show, Tom played the role of a rebellious teacher at a conservative prep school, attempting to ignite a spark of revolution among his students. Although the sitcom was short-lived, it granted Tom the opportunity to immerse himself deeper into the art of stand-up, as he relocated to New York City with what he jokingly called his “NBC artist’s grant money.” Tom’s comedic path soon stretched beyond the American borders when he started performing in London, which opened doors to comedy clubs across Europe. His performances in Amsterdam caught the eye of the Dutch network Yorin, which led to him hosting his own late-night talk show, “The Kevin Masters Show: starring Tom Rhodes." The show was a hit in the Netherlands, running for two years as Tom interviewed the nation’s biggest celebrities while embracing the Dutch culture. He further expanded his television presence with the travel show “Yorin Travel,” exploring diverse locales like Peru, Russia, France, and the Dutch Caribbean. Throughout his career, Tom Rhodes has been featured on prominent platforms such as HBO, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and has filmed two half-hour specials for Comedy Central, “Comedy Central Presents...Tom Rhodes.” His lovable personality and warm charm have won him fans across the globe, from Asia and Australia to Europe and back in the United States. Despite coming from the small town of Oviedo, Florida, Tom has established himself as a seasoned world-class performer and traveler, passionately dedicated to the art of stand-up comedy. Wherever there is a comedy microphone plugged in, Tom Rhodes is sure to be nearby, bringing laughter and insights to audiences around the world.
