T.J. Miller was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. His comedic journey began during his college years at George Washington University, where he joined the sketch comedy group Recess. His passion for comedy deepened as he moved to Chicago, where he performed stand-up and became part of a vibrant collective known as the Blerds, short for "Blog Nerds." This group included fellow comedians Kumail Nanjiani and Kyle Kinane. Together, they created web videos that helped garner attention from the comedy industry. Miller's talents in comedy led him to join the renowned Second City Touring Company, where he continued to hone his skills. His career in television and film has been significant, with notable roles such as Hud in the inventive monster movie "Cloverfield." He also starred in the sitcom "Carpoolers" and appeared in various films, including "Get Him to the Greek," "She's Out of My League," "Extract," and "The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard." In 2008, Miller's rising talent was recognized by major publications. Variety included him in their "10 Comics to Watch" list during the Just For Laughs festival, while Entertainment Weekly named him one of the "12 Rising Stars of Comedy." The following year, Comedy Central added him to their "Hot List" special, further cementing his status in the comedy world. Miller returned to his home state of Colorado to film his first hour-long special, "T.J. Miller: No Real Reason," at the Boulder Theater. This special aired on Comedy Central in late 2011 and featured a humorous account of his attempt to make a silly face on his driver's license and an interaction with disruptive audience members that became a memorable part of the performance. In addition to his stand-up and acting, T.J. Miller explored the realm of music with the release of his comedic rap album, "The Extended Play E.P." in 2011. He is also a familiar face on television as a regular panelist on "Chelsea Lately," where his quick wit and humor continue to delight audiences.
