Since the age of four, Robert Powell has harbored a dream of becoming a successful comedian. Born with a natural ability to make people laugh, Robert's comedic journey began at the Funny Bone in Shreveport, Louisiana. It was there, on a dare from a good friend, that he took the stage for an open mic night, igniting the spark for his promising career in comedy. Robert's unique talent and charisma quickly earned him the moniker of saving comedy in Louisiana, cementing his reputation as a household name wherever he performed. After college, he moved to Dallas, TX, aiming to further his career. His aspirations soon bore fruit when, just six months into his stay, he caught the attention of Comedian Rickey Smiley's management. After a standout performance, Robert was invited to open for Rickey every week at Club Maxwells in Dallas. In 2005, Robert took on the official role of the opening act for the "Rickey Smiley and Friends Comedy Tour," a pivotal opportunity that opened many doors in the comedy world. His career rapidly soared as he performed alongside renowned comedians such as Red Grant, Cedric the Entertainer, Steve Harvey, D.L. Hughley, J.J. Williamson, Scruncho, Kevin James, and Suli McCullough. Beyond comedy, Robert Powell showcased his versatility by hosting concerts for legendary and popular artists like Frankie Beverly featuring Maze, Fantasia, Monica, Lil Wayne, Ludacris, Yung Joc, Lil Boosie, and Webbie. He also graced the stage with BET's 106 & Park hosts Terrance and Rocsi. With a wealth of experience hosting collegiate events, step shows, and comedy specials, Robert participated in the "College Kings of Comedy Tour." In 2009, driven by his ambition and passion, he launched his own comedy tour, "Robert Powell and Friends." This tour swept across the southern United States, filling arenas in numerous cities and universities, further solidifying Robert's status as a powerhouse in the world of comedy.
