Kristin Key
Kristin Key began her journey into stand-up comedy at the young age of 19, starting as the house MC for the Amarillo Comedy Club. In her small hometown, Key was determined to break through the barriers that confronted her aspirations. Undaunted by being initially deemed too young to enter the local comedy club, her persistence eventually won over the club owners who allowed her to take the stage. It soon became apparent that she had a natural talent for comedy, leading to a standing M.C. position where she honed her craft week after week. Tragedy struck in January 2006 with the closure of the Amarillo Comedy Club following the passing of co-owner and Key's mentor, comedian Kelly Moran. This pivotal moment prompted Key to seek new opportunities, prompting her move to San Marcos, Texas, to immerse herself in the vibrant comedy scene of nearby Austin. Just three months after relocating, Kristin's comedic talents were put to the test when she auditioned for the show "Last Comic Standing." Her wit and charm caught the attention of the producers, earning her a spot in the show's house. Competing against thousands, Key's unique sense of humor and relatability propelled her to a commendable 6th place finish. This exposure launched her onto a national platform, leading to performances on programs such as Comics Unleashed, and appearances across major networks like VH-1, Bravo, the TV Guide Channel, and Fox Reality. In addition to her television work, Kristin has become a familiar voice on XM and Sirius Satellite Radio and is a regular guest on The Bob & Tom Show. Her career continues to flourish as she resides in Long Beach, California, where she tours and pursues various opportunities in television, spreading laughter across the country with her quick wit and engaging storytelling.
