Josh Gondelman is a writer and comedian known for his clever wordplay and engaging storytelling. Born and initially nurtured in Boston, Josh honed his comedic skills on the local circuit before making the inevitable move to New York City, determined to share his stand-up with larger audiences. In the world of comedy festivals, Josh first made a splash at the inaugural Laughing Skull Comedy Festival in Atlanta, where he took home first prize. He continued to build his reputation with performances at the Rooftop Comedy Festival in Aspen, CO, as well as headlining the Laugh Your Asheville Off Festival in Asheville, NC. His talent has been showcased at notable events like the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival, the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, and SF Sketchfest. Josh's TV career gained momentum when he landed a writing position for Season 2 of HBO's "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver." Prior to this, he served as the Web Producer for the show's first season, crafting digital content for the acclaimed HBO platform. He also contributed his writing skills to Fuse TV’s "Funny Or Die Presents: Billy On The Street." Beyond television, Josh's writing has graced the pages of several prestigious publications, including McSweeney's Internet Tendency, New York Magazine's The Cut, and Thought Catalog. He also co-created and co-authored the popular Modern Seinfeld Twitter account, blending contemporary absurdities with the classic sitcom’s format. His own Twitter account earned accolades from Paste Magazine, recognizing it as one of 2012's best. Josh's comedic charm has been acknowledged on "The Ellen Degeneres Show" during a segment called "Tweetly Roundup," recognizing his wit and humor. His television appearances have also included G4's “Attack of the Show” and MavTV’s “Rooftop on the Road,” much to the delight of his family. In November 2011, Josh released his debut standup comedy CD, "Everything’s The Best," through Rooftop Comedy Productions, which further established him as a formidable presence in the comedy landscape. Outside of comedy, Josh draws from his years of experience as a preschool teacher to infuse his material with warmth and relatability, endearing himself to audiences while delivering sharp, insightful humor.
