Josh Blue, a comedian known for his unique perspective and vibrant storytelling, was born in Cameroon while his father was teaching there. Although originally from Minnesota, Blue spent his early years absorbing a variety of cultural influences. Born with cerebral palsy, a neurological condition affecting motor control, Josh uses his experiences with the disorder, including his spastic right arm, as a rich source of humor and insight in his comedy.
Josh discovered his passion for stand-up comedy while attending Evergreen State College. It was there, during a spontaneous 10-minute performance at the campus center, that he first unspooled his life stories into a comedic narrative, without any prepared material. This newfound passion led him to create an independent study curriculum focused on stand-up comedy, which included regular performances to hone his craft.
Gaining national recognition, Josh Blue became widely known after winning the fourth season of the reality television show "Last Comic Standing." This success helped elevate his career significantly, coinciding with the release of his stand-up special "7 More Days in the Tank." The special initially premiered in movie theaters and was later edited for a television broadcast on Bravo.
In addition to his accomplishments in comedy, Josh is also an athlete, playing for the U.S. Paralympic Soccer Team. He proudly competed in the 2004 Paralympic Games held in Athens.
Josh currently resides in Denver, Colorado, where he balances his thriving career and personal life. He lives with his wife, Yuko, and their two children, a son named Simon and a daughter named Seika. Through his comedic work and personal endeavors, Josh Blue continues to challenge perceptions and embrace life with humor and resilience.
