ISMO began his comedy journey in 2002 in his native Finland, rapidly establishing himself as a unique voice in the comedic landscape. His sharp wit and keen observational humor led to the creation of his own sitcom, "ISMO," in which he both wrote and starred, spanning two successful seasons. Between 2008 and 2016, he released three DVD specials, showcasing his comedic talents to a growing audience.
ISMO's ability to connect with audiences has also been demonstrated through numerous sold-out performances across both the UK and Finland. His international appeal continued to grow, with appearances at some of the world's most prestigious comedy festivals, including Just For Laughs Montreal, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and the New Zealand International Comedy Festival.
In 2014, ISMO made his debut in the United States at the iconic Laugh Factory in Hollywood, where he was awarded the title of "The Funniest Person in the World," a testament to his universal comedic appeal. Two years later, he relocated to Los Angeles, performing regularly at renowned venues such as the Laugh Factory, the Comedy and Magic Club, the Melrose Improv, and the Ice House.
ISMO's unique perspective as an outsider allows him to find humor in the seemingly mundane, turning everyday observations into comedic gold. This distinctive approach caught the attention of American late-night television, leading to his appearance on NBC’s "Last Call with Carson Daly." In 2018, he made history as the first Finnish comedian to perform on "Conan," with a clip from his set going viral, amassing over 45 million views.
Further expanding his international presence, ISMO debuted his one-man show, “Words Apart,” at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in 2018, continuing to solidify his status as a leading figure in the world of comedy.
