Ian Bagg began his comedic journey in his homeland of Canada, where he quickly established himself as a unique and uproarious talent. His career in show business followed the classic Canadian entertainer's path: attending a “Hockey Night in Canada” game, performing at the prestigious “Montreal Comedy Festival,” kissing the traditional cod in Newfoundland, and starring in a “Comedy Now” special on CTV. Having accomplished a lot on home soil, he took the bold step of relocating to New York City. There, while living in a youth hostel, his humor found a place on some of the most renowned talk shows, including “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” and “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” Ian's comedic career wasn't always glamorous, as he navigated gigs on “Make Me Laugh,” “Showcase Comics with Louie Anderson,” “Fridays” on NBC, and “The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn.” His breakout one-hour special, “Ian Bagg: Getting to F*cking Know You,” premiered on Showtime in April 2013, marking him as a comedic force to be reckoned with. Bagg's career has been diverse, with appearances on platforms as varied as the History Channel, the Food Network, and the Biography Channel. He also holds the unique distinction of being the first Canadian comedian to have met three U.S. Presidents: Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, and George Bush, albeit in unconventional settings — at the White House, on a plane, and at a hockey practice, respectively. His lively personality has led to memorable encounters, such as interviewing celebrities on the red carpet, where he famously irritated Brad Pitt, was hit with a champagne bottle, and fielded a request for chocolate-covered pretzels from Alec Baldwin. Despite these adventures, Ian remains grounded in his quirky charm. His eccentricity is evident; rumors suggest his canine companion remarkably survived a three-story fall, and his boyish persona suggests an age ranging from twelve to somewhere between twenty-nine and seventy-two. Originally studying to become an explosives engineer, Ian's life took an explosive turn when he discovered comedy at an open mic. Today, he might appear in a theater near you, given that he clocks over 100,000 air miles annually. If not, you can catch his wit on his radio/podcast show on XM Radio channel 160 or The Toadhopnetwork’s “The Ian Bagg Show.” With successful stints on “Comedy Central Presents,” HBO’s “A Comics Climb,” and performances on “Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand-Up Revolution,” Ian Bagg’s comedy continues to draw and delight audiences around the globe.
