Bryan Callen is a versatile comedian and actor, well-recognized for his numerous roles in both film and television. Born in the Philippines, Callen spent his early years immersed in various cultures, living in countries such as India, Pakistan, Greece, and Lebanon until he was fourteen, when he moved to the United States. He attended high school in Massachusetts and went on to earn a BA in History at American University in Washington, D.C. Callen's introduction to the entertainment industry began with stand-up comedy, starting in New York in 1993. His talent quickly paved the way for his move to Los Angeles in 1995, where he became one of the original cast members of the sketch comedy show "MADtv." During his two seasons on "MADtv," Callen became known for his memorable characters, including the energetic Pool Boy from "Cabana Chat with Dixie Wetsworth" and motivational speaker Al Casdy. His knack for impressions was also showcased through portrayals of public figures like Bill Clinton and actors like Jim Carrey and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Following his time on "MADtv," Callen expanded his television career with roles on popular shows such as HBO’s "Sex and the City," playing a memorable overzealous lover. He was also featured as Kirstie Alley’s witty assistant on Showtime’s "Fat Actress" and made appearances on series like "Californication," "Entourage," "The West Wing," "CSI," and "Law and Order: SVU." Additionally, he portrayed recurring characters on USA’s "In Plain Sight" and CBS’s "How I Met Your Mother." In film, Callen has contributed to a variety of projects, including appearing in "The Hangover" series, where he played Eddie, the charismatic owner of a wedding chapel, and Samir, a lively strip club owner/ gun runner. His film credits also include performances in "Old School," "Scary Movie 4," "Bad Santa," and "The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard." Callen's television presence extends to recent roles such as Captain Frank Dashell in MTV’s "Death Valley," where he leads the Undead Task Force in a comedic battle against supernatural threats in Los Angeles. On the comedy stage, Callen is a well-known headliner performing at clubs and colleges across the U.S. and internationally. His stand-up has been showcased on platforms like Comedy Central’s "Live at Gotham" and CBS's "The Late Show with David Letterman." In addition to his acting and stand-up endeavors, Callen's work continues with the anticipated release of his one-hour special, "Bryan Callen: Man Class," set to premiere on Showtime.
